The Huntington Public Library (HPL) is housed in the renovated Great Hall of the Union Meeting House on the Main Road in the lower village of Huntington. The Union Meeting House has been restored for the community as a permanent home for the Library, Arts Gallery, and Community Center.

Home of the Huntington Public Library
While the Library’s eclectic collection is small (about 17,000 volumes), adults will find good current fiction, nonfiction, parenting resources, some reference and a few classics. The popular children’s collection includes books from required and award winning book lists, as well as a large collection of books for young kids and early readers.
The HPL is continually evolving to meet the needs of our changing community and world. We collaborate with other libraries to offer digital services, strive to keep our collection fresh and appealing, and aim to be a welcoming, safe space for community members to read, research, gather, and learn.

Governance
The HPL is a town library, supported through tax dollars and supplemented by donations and grants. It is governed by the Library Board of Trustees.
Library Trustees usually meet at the Library on the third Sunday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Trustees are elected by vote on Town Meeting Day and serve a three-year term.
